NHBB Hosts ConVal High School Ace Awards

December 15, 2005 -- Peterborough, NH. Peterborough, NH- ConVal High School and the Education Committee of the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce proudly announced the latest recipients of the 2005-2006 ACE Awards Program at a December 14th luncheon hosted by New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc. (NHBB).

This prestigious award is presented three times annually to ConVal High School students who demonstrate exceptional qualities of character valued in the workplace. ACE is an acronym for academics, attendance, achievement; character, challenge, citizenship, ethics, example and excellence.

For this series of awards, 53 students were chosen, 5% of the school’s entire student body. The nomination and selection process is administered entirely by the ConVal faculty based upon each student’s qualifying personal attributes and characteristics.

NHBB was pleased to host the annual event for the first time. Dick Reynells, Operations Manager at NHBB and Education Committee member noted, “NHBB feels a sense of responsibility and pride in advancing the connectivity between the schools and the workplace.”

Bert Broderick, NHBB’s Manager of Quality Assurance and Control added in his presentation that “These skills demonstrated so superbly by the students are invaluable for their future and most are imperative to the success of NHBB, including commitment to quality, decision making, communication, self-management and dependability.”

Along with their honor, each student was awarded with $20 in “ACE” bucks, redeemable at participating member merchants and received a guided tour of the NHBB HiTech Division manufacturing plant.

Susan Dell, ConVal High School principal; Deb Blair ,Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce Executive Director; and Chet Bowles, Director of the Region 14 Applied Technology Center were on hand with Reynells, Broderick and several other NHBB employees to help administer the luncheon and awards presentation.
