New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of precision bearing products for commercial and military aircraft, high tech. industrial products, medical and dental instruments, and many other high value applications. NHBB operates three state-of-the-art facilities with a half million square feet of manufacturing space and employs more than 1,200 people. Founded in Peterborough, NH in 1946, today NHBB is a subsidiary of Minebea Co., Ltd., a global manufacturer of miniature ball bearings and high precision components.
Peterborough, New Hampshire: The more than 550 employees who work at the HiTech plant enjoy living in a charming, rural New England setting. The small town of Peterborough, which is located at the center of the Monadnock Region, offers an exceptionally high quality of life and easy access to the cities of Keene to the West, Manchester and Nashua to the East, and Concord and the Lakes Region to the North. Boston is also an easy 1-1/2 hour drive away. The 240,000 square-foot facility features precision manufacturing on two floors, a large Class 10,000 Clean Room for assembly, a new heat treat facility, and a full service cafeteria for breakfast and lunch needs.
Laconia, New Hampshire: The Astro facility is located in the beautiful Lakes Region of central New Hampshire. The 450 Astro employees have access to a multitude of outdoor recreation activities, including boating, swimming and hiking in the spring and summer, leaf peeping in the fall, and ice fishing, snowmobiling and skiing in the winter. The 148,000 square-foot facility features large automated machine centers, a custom liner assembly area, a metallurgical laboratory, an R&D/test lab, and a full service cafeteria for breakfast and lunch needs.
Chatsworth, California: The Precision Division is located in the west end of the vibrant San Fernando Valley. Surrounded by the Santa Susana Mountains, it is the work site of choice for over 300 employees who enjoy all that the greater Los Angeles area has to offer, including excellent weather, beautiful ocean communities, and numerous venues for enjoying sporting and cultural events. The Chatsworth facility is the site of NHBB's corporate offices. It also features 110,000 square feet of manufacturing space, a Class 1,000 clean room, an R&D/test lab, and a full service cafeteria for breakfast and lunch needs.
